2018 Wondercon

I had a blast at this year’s Wondercon. It’s not as crazy as San Diego Comic-Con, but a nice way to enjoy the weekend.

Celebrating the Popular Arts in Anaheim, CA.
Dr. Peepers is a steampunk original character by Dean LaCrone. He is an amazing cosplayer.
Beware of the Mexican Wonderwoman with the golden “chancla” of truth.
At the Power Rangers Shattered Grid panel, we all got an advance copy of issue #25 for our reading pleasure. Oh and did I mention, Kimberly is the Ranger Slayer?
It’s Mork from Ork…Nanu-Nanu, Shazbot!
Just for fun, we watched Samara crawl out of her tv…she actually fits in this and it was pretty awesome cosplay.

Comic Art and Literacy Expo

A Place Called Home’s FIRST-EVER Comic Art and Literacy Expo, sponsored by Disney was a blast. On October 21st, artists, illustrators, writers, poets, and publishers brought their books and knowledge to share with many kids who showed up to take part in writing, drawing and storytelling panels and then they all got to take home books and comics for their enjoyment!

The line forms in front of A Place Called Home, with kids ready to participate in the Comic Art and Literacy Expo.
Kids at the expo got to meet many local publishers and illustrators, along with participating in panels and workshops.
Disney was the sponsor who donated tons of comics and books for all kids, free of charge!
Even R2D2 and the BB8 showed up to get their free books!

2017 Comic Book Invasion

The 2017 Comic Book Invasion at the Commerce Library was super-amazing!

Megatron made an epic appearance.
These are some of the kids who participated in my “Paint your own Superhero Mask and Cape” workshop.
Isn’t this the cutest little Wonder Woman ever?

2016 Pomona Chalk Festival

Last Saturday I participated in this year’s Pomona Chalk Festival. The them was “My Favorite Book”. I recently received this wonderful book titled “Latinx Comic Book Storytelling” in the mail from the author Frederick Luis Aldama and it has the cover art of one of my favorite cartoonist of all time, Jaime Hernandez so I decided to chalk it!

SPADRA Issue No. 2

My new books are in, and I cannot wait to bring them to Columbus, Ohio next weekend!

“Legend of The Green Mist” is the tale of the legendary green mist which centers around Pearl Hopp, a beautiful young wife of a shopkeeper in Spadra. Bored and dissatisfied with her marriage, she escapes into infidelity, which then leads her to a tragic end in a ghostly appropriation of a town that time forgot. See you at Sol Con 2016.
